Description

The property is located in "Los Kikos" a borough of Alcaucin. Alcaucin comes from the Arabic Al Cautin, which means arches. The house is located on a hill overlooking the valley and the 2066 m high mountain La Maroma in the province of Malaga, 20 minutes from the coast.

The plot is completely fenced and has a fairly wide iron entrance gate. The house itself is about 20 m from the road and from the living room or the terrace you have a beautiful view. The road itself is a dead end, so there is no through traffic. Between the road and the building you have a beautiful tropical garden that ensures that your privacy is guaranteed. Nature, tranquility and healthy air is all you need to let the stress slip away. At dusk, enjoying a nice glass of wine or beer and a nice conversation under a beautiful starry sky is of course also part of it.

The relatively large swimming pool of 4 by 8 meters should of course not be missed during a perfect holiday. Relaxing at the pool, reading a book under a parasol, while the children have fun in the water and if it gets too hot, taking a dip in the water yourself is also part of it.

You can also tan your white skin in privacy without the crowds at the beach.

The swimming pool is only heated by the sun and is therefore only accessible for polar bears in the autumn or winter.

Parasols, sun loungers and beach towels are provided.

Next to the swimming pool, but higher up, there is a large terrace (6 x 12 m) which is ideal for all kinds of sports activities or for meditation.

On the covered terrace in front of the house there is plenty of space to eat and there is even a gas barbecue available. Patio table + chairs for up to 6 people.

If it gets too hot/cold outside, you can continue to enjoy your stay indoors, in the fairly spacious living room with leather seating area and satellite TV. Netflix and internet are also available.

The house has a spacious kitchen with stove, oven, microwave. The classic household appliances are of course also present and there is a large freezer/refrigerator combination.

Dishes, cutlery, glasses, bags, kitchen towels, pots and pans are available.

Bedroom 1 can accommodate 2 people and there is a box spring of 1.80 m. Bedroom 2 is larger and can accommodate up to 4 people. There is a bunk bed + 2 person bed of 1m40 available.

Of course we provide duvets, sheets and pillows. So you don't have to bring it yourself. There are also 2 bathrooms available. 1 with sink + shower and 1 with sink and bath.

Towels are provided.

The house in Spain has an electric boiler with a capacity of 300l. Domestic hot water. The building is heated/cooled via an air-conditioning system. All the electricity required for this is produced by the PV installation on the roof. The building is therefore self-sufficient.

Environment

The hamlet of Los Kikos is a borough of Alcaucin in the Province of Malaga about 20 minutes from the coastal town of Torre Del Mar.

Alcaucin is a village located at the foot of the mountain La Marona, near the impressive gorge of Zaffaraya and in the distance you have a view of the reservoir of La Viñuela. There is an ATM and an information office. On Saturdays you can also visit a mini market.

The village with small alleys can be visited on foot or by car. Keep in mind that maneuvering in the narrow streets with your car can cause quite a bit of stress.

Alcaucin comes from the Arabic Al Cautin which means arches. This is one of the earliest inhabited areas of the province of Malaga. During the excavations in the La Cueva del Boquete at 1100 m altitude, human remains of a Neaderthaler were discovered in the cave.

Alcaucin is located in the Axarquia Mountains, about 25 km from the Mediterranean Sea, at the foot of the 2066m mountain La Maroma. In the middle of the village you will find the spring water fountain, Los Cico Caños, which dates back to the time of the Arabs. This is fed by the eternally clear spring water of La Maroma.

The village is also dominated by the impressive gorge of the Boquete de Zafarraya.

From the house in Los Kikos you have beautiful views of the plains with olive and almond trees. In spring, the blossoms of the orange trees give off a breath-taking fragrance that you would love to take home with you, if you could.

Walking

Several walks start near the house. How difficult or how long you make the walk is up to you. If you walk down the mountain you have to keep in mind that you have to go back up the mountain. This is often not evident at warm temperatures. In any case, take enough water with you and protect yourself from the sun.
